Carlo Levi

Exhibition Opening Film

An immersive journey into the paintings of Carlo Levi, built on a custom AI trained to move inside his world without ever leaving his hand.

A painter who was sent away, and started to paint.

Exiled to a small town in Basilicata during the Fascist years, Carlo Levi began to paint the land and the people around him. His work now lives in a museum in Matera. Our task was to let visitors walk inside it.

Not a slideshow of paintings. A world you can enter.

We imagined the experience as a journey through Levi's canvases, where the fields, the faces and the animals he painted come into motion and let you pass through them.

The challenge was fidelity. His style is unmistakable, and any movement we added had to feel like it belonged on his brush, not ours.

We taught a machine to paint like Levi.

Instead of reaching for generic AI, we trained a custom model on Levi's own body of work. Every generated frame had to respect his palette, his gesture, his way of seeing.

This is what we mean when we talk about AI as craft. Not a shortcut, but a new brush in the hands of people who study the master before they touch it.

Between the dreaming and the showing.

Pure AI passages carry you through the painted world. Between them, sequences in clean 3D give the eye a place to rest, marking the rhythm of the journey and the structure of the room.

The two languages alternate, so the experience breathes instead of overwhelming.

The result

A permanent immersive room where a visitor does not look at Carlo Levi's paintings. They walk through them, surrounded on every side by a world that moves the way he might have imagined it.

An immersive dimension

The films were also presented in an immersive room, extending the project beyond the screen and placing visitors inside its visual world.
